When you want to get rid of office equipment, copiers and old printers you can no longer just throw them into the trash. Recycling and Disposal of Office Printers and Photocopiers
Disposing of old office equipment and disposing of bulky trash such as old copiers is what Newtech Recycling does best. Newtech will organize a pick-up, and our drivers and collection staff will promptly remove your scrap printers, fax machines and copiers from your location (or you can drop them off at one of our convenient locations). The waste electronic equipment will then be transported to our recycling and disposal facilities in New Jersey (NJ) for processing. For your convenience, we have cross-dock locations in Long Island, NY, Upstate NY, and Pennsylvania (PA) for drop-offs and re-distribution back to our processing facility in NJ. At these cross-dock locations we also have the ability to offer back-hauling services through our affiliate business, Village Office Supply. For those clients with satelite locations outside our normal area of distribution, we can offer customized pick-up services utilizing partnerships with haulers and FedEx.
Upon receipt of equipment at our location our forklift drivers unload the material. We then separate the bulky items in need of disposal such as the photocopiers from smaller items such as the desktop printers. This process is just the beginning of the Newtech Printer and Office Equipment waste management program. Once the unwanted office printers and copiers are unloaded they are sorted into pallet loads where they await the disassembly process.
The printers and office copiers awaiting disposal are dismantled by hand to ensure that no inks or pollutants are leaked and material is sorted properly. The Newtech Recycling team are highly trained and work quickly to identify any materials to be recycled such as the cables that connected your now obsolete printer to your computer or workstation.
What was once an office printer or office copier destined for the trash is now just a dismantled group of components such as cables, wires, plastics and metals. Organizing the components collected from your old laser printer, photocopier and fax machine into groups helps Newtech to recycle the materials more efficiently. Each material group, is then recycled into its original state so it can be used again in the manufacturing of something new. We call this our “Closed Loop De-manufacturing Process”.
