We compile and maintain comprehensive records of your e-waste assets, this is to ensure you have a receipt of custody and legal proof of State approved disposal.
After we have inventoried your e-waste we will arrange to remove it or, if it is already disassembled and palletized, we will collect it from your location.
Once your e-waste arrives at our location it is checked off against our inventory list and then separated and sent to dedicated demanufacturing teams.
All hard drives and data storage systems will be separated from your e-waste and sent to our secure data destruction team for proper disposal.
Most the materials used in the construction of electronics can be recycled indefinitely, which allows for a higher degree of sustainability in the production of technology.
We list & document the e-waste we collect from you of prior to its disposal mainly for three reasons: 1. To counter check them against your inventory list. 2. To ensure each item has been disposed of correctly. 3. To provide a receipt of custody that proves your old electronics have been recycled in accordance with State law.
Our inventory management service also offers serial number tracking for clients that require an added level of security. Most serial numbers can be found on items within the hardware. For example, hard drives usually need to be removed from computers to view their serial numbers. If you need help with any aspect of cataloguing your e-waste, our I.T. asset removal and recycling team can help you facilitate the project. Call today on: 732-564-3110.
What’s the difference between removing e-waste and collecting e-waste? The answer: removing e-waste could entail taking apart, uninstalling and palletizing equipment. Collecting e-waste is just the process of arriving to pick-up e-waste that’s ready to go. Whatever you need, Newtech Recycling offers both e-waste collection & removal.
Removing or collecting the electronics from your location is the second of five steps towards fully recycling your e-waste, though usually it is the last step for you (the client). Once we’ve created an inventory of your e-waste and removed your unwanted electronics the rest is down to us. That said, it is not compulsory for Newtech Recycling to pick-up your e-waste, you can have it shipped directly to our recycling facility yourself, call for more info: 732 564 3110.
The process of separating electrical waste into its reclaimable materials is called demanufacturing. Deconstructing manufactured electronics (demanufacturing) requires more than just a screwdriver and big workbench. Our demanufacturing team is extensively trained and highly experienced in handling e-waste safely and effectively.
Our teams have experience in taking apart everything from military communications equipment to data centers, to photocopiers and run of the mill office laptops. There is an element of danger to demanufacturing technology, for example broken CRT monitors can cause fatal cuts and breathing in glass powder is deadly. To ensure the safety our recycling teams, our facilities are monitored by the State for air quality, and we strictly adhere to our OHSAS 18001 Certification.
One of the most common questions we get asked about is how are hard drives recycled. It is an extremely important question, especially if your business holds sensitive data. Failure to dispose of your hard drives correctly can result in fines for your company and in some rare cases, imprisonment for the responsible manager.
Newtech Recycling recognises the importance of protecting its clients against prosecution from the Data Protection Act and offers one of the most comprehensive hard drive and data destruction systems in the U.S.A. We can either shred the hard drives at your location or we can take the drives to our data destruction facility. At our facility drives are sterilized with a DOD standard wipe, destroyed with an EMP field generator and then shredded.
Glass from monitors, scanners and copiers can be recycled indefinitely, as can most of the metals found in computers, laptops and other I.T. hardware. Even the plastic found in components and used for covers can be recycled again and again. Aluminum is recycled very quickly, in as little as 60 days it can be found in a new product.
We aim to reclaim at least 99% of any item that comes into our facility and we often hit the 100% recycled mark. We achieve such high levels of recycling primarily because separate the materials and components from the hardware being recycled, so there is very little waste. For example, we use specialized recycling machines to separate the lead polluted glass from the clean glass of CRT monitors. We also remove any plastics or wires attached to the tube.
Newtech Recycling offers a hard drive and media destruction service that destroys photocopier hard drives, mobile device hard drives, laptop, PC and server hard drives. Plus: Newtech can also shred SSD, DVD, CD, tape and RAM at your either location or in our secure data destruction facility.
