NJ Recycling & Disposal
As of December 17, 2002, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection adopted a recycling regulation that now classifies consumer electronics (computers, monitors, printers, etc.) as a Class D Universal Waste. (Federal Universal Waste Rule: 40CFR Part 273/NJAC 7:26A)
It is now mandatory that businesses and institutions properly dispose of this type of equipment at a Class D Universal Waste Processing facility.
